Is sodium sulfide soluble in water?

Sodium sulfide is a variable-color crystal with a repulsive odor. It reacts with acids to produce hydrogen sulfide. Its aqueous solution is strongly alkaline, hence it is also known as sulfurated alkali. It dissolves sulfur to form sodium polysulfide. Industrial products often appear as pink, reddish-brown, or yellowish-brown lumps due to impurities. It is corrosive and toxic. When exposed to air, it readily oxidizes to form sodium thiosulfate. Highly hygroscopic, its solubility in 100g of water is 15.4g (at 10°C) and 57.3g (at 90°C). It is slightly soluble in ethanol and insoluble in ether.

Selected high-quality raw materials, strict quality control throughout the production process, ensuring stable quality for every batch of sodium sulfide.
